To all distinguished guests and fellow Council members & friends

It is with a great deal of pleasure that we of the JABC accept the award for Small or Emerging Chamber 2007.

Many on our Council and amongst our members have abiding connections with Japan - and as would be expected - many of those relationships go back a very long time indeed.

Our Council has had an interesting history.and I thank all of those people who have played a part in the initial establishment of the JABC - .but it is to our current Committee and members that I wish to pay tribute.

I thank each and every one of them for their commitment, dedication, time, energy and passion - to work collaboratively to re-establish our Chamber.

I wish you to note as well that our Committee consists of a lot of young, dedicated members and I hope that by encouraging them to lead and contribute - our Council will be at the forefront of Chamber activity for many years to come.

Thank you very much indeed.

Dr. Helen Paige
Chairperson
